Urban Butcher has already won plaudits from local diners and critics in the pages of the Washington Post alike for the quality of its locally sourced, in-house butchered beef and lamb. What may still remain less known, however, is Urban Butcher’s happy hour, available at the bar, patio, and at communal tables from 5 to 7 p.m. from Mondays through Fridays.
The bar offers drink specials on drafts beer and house wine, of course, but also on a selection of UB’s signature hand-crafted cocktails. For just six bucks you can sip on a MoCo mule made with vodka and house ginger beer, a boulevardier, or a pitcher of lavender margaritas. If you want to add something to nosh on while you catch up with friends, go for the popular meat cellar board, which includes several house-cured meats, salami, and cheeses (regulars call it one of the best shareable plates in the city).
